Laura and Bickford Brannen Offer 2011 Avanti Fund Scholarship Program through Conn-Selmer
Conn-Selmer Inc., in conjunction with master flutemakers Laura and Bickford Brannen, is pleased to announce the continuation of the Avanti Fund Scholarship program for 2011. Two sets of scholarships will be provided by the Avanti Fund, which was created by the Brannens who, along with Conn-Selmer engineers and flutemakers, developed the Avanti Flute line.
The first set of scholarships (the Avanti Fund Conn-Selmer Employee Scholarships), are for family members of Conn-Selmer's Elkhart employees. "We are looking for dedicated students who are working towards perfecting their skills and becoming more competitive in the workplace," says Amy Pribulick, Director of Marketing for Flutes at Conn-Selmer. The second set, known as the Avanti Fund Music Education Scholarships, is offered nationally to aid students who are pursuing undergraduate degrees in music education. Any student accepted to or currently enrolled in an institution to receive a Bachelor degree in Music Education is encouraged to apply.
Says Mr. Brannen, "The purpose of these scholarships is very simple. It is a way of thanking the Conn-Selmer staff and our customers for all they have done to make Conn-Selmer the national leader in band instrument manufacturing. The commitment of the Avanti production team has now been matched by the commitment of Conn-Selmer's corporate team in financing the Avanti Fund Scholarships."
